It was a day of emotional moments. Backyard weddings are just like that. They tend to take an already emotional affair and douse it in a stream of extra sentiment and nostalgia.
Em + Raffaele were married in the backyard of Em’s childhood home. Her family and friends set up the space, and her mom home cooked the meal. There was meat marinating in the dining room, and rolls stacked in the kitchen of their sweet little farm house. Everyone came together to turn a simple day into a celebration.
The day began wandering and observing the dynamics of all hands on deck, until the bride pulled in looking like a modern day Marilyn in her little white summer dress as she ran inside to finish her preparations. They saw eachother for the first time in the most relaxed manner and left hand in hand for a little adventure hike to a favorite childhood location nearby where they said their vows before the ceremony. From the ceremony on, it was a celebration for the ages. Best friends played in the band (Raffaele joined in at the end!), and the joy was palpable.
